Causes Of Depression Can Be Dealt With
Reading what the experts have to say concerning the causes of depression will give you a list something like this:
Family history of depression
Loneliness
Health problems or chronic pain
Unemployment or underemployment
Recent stressful life experiences
Early childhood trauma or abuse
Alcohol or drug abuse
Financial strain
Lack of social support
Marital or relationship problems
But these items don't really cause depression. These various stress factors have been a part of many people's lives and they never got depressed over them. The factors above can certainly create a more difficult life, at least temporarily, but not depression.
Of course there can be contributing factors to depression, such as childhood abuse. But they're not enough to cause a state of depression.
I received no medical training whatsoever. But I did go through severe depression. It went on for many years. I knocked out my depression for good, and I can show you how to end your depression just like me.
Before we look at ending depression, though, let's look at what really causes it.
You've got a flow of emotion inside you right now. A raw flow of feelings and thoughts. (An emotion, by the way, is simply a package of thoughts and feelings.)
Out of this raw thought and feeling, you think your thoughts and feel your feelings. However - we've been taught, practically since birth, that feelings are bad and wrong and you shouldn't have them. So while we let ourselves think (thinking is okay - just don't do it too much!) we're taught and conditioned that we shouldn't have feelings.
Or if you must feel, then keep them your feelings to yourself. Just don't feel too much. And whatever you do, make sure you don't feel your feelings with intensity.
In the beginning, we simply try to turn off the 'bad' feelings - the uncomfortable ones.
"Big boys don't cry."
"Good girls don't get angry."
However, that's just the beginning.
You can't really shut out certain feelings and let everything else through. Because all feelings are coming through the same pathway. Crimping a garden hose restricts the entire flow. Same thing here.
We want to not feel certain emotions, but instead we're restricting all emotions.
Our power comes from our emotions. They are the very source of our aliveness. By blocking the feelings, you start to shut down. You keep feeling worse, but you don't know why. You still think it's the feelings themselves that cause the pain.
In reality, it's not feeling the feelings that cause the pain. It is painful not to feel. Plus it takes lots of effort. It doesn't just happen. You gotta make up all kinds of stories about your feelings.
The stories are like little structures that impede or block the flow of feelings. And the structures become the very source of emotional pain in our lives.
Another point to keep in mind is that your heart wants to feel all your feelings. But its being denied. When your heart wants to feel, but you won't let it, that's going to create emotional pain.
So what's really causing the depression here?
Depression is the absence of feelings. As you keep blocking your feelings, it will eventually lead to depression. The problem is, we keep making the problem worse because we think it's the feelings that make us feel bad. Really, it's the structures (which become like a pain factory) coupled with the absence of feelings coming into our heart.
The true cause of depression is the shutting down of our feelings - one step at a time - until we lose touch with the very aliveness our feelings bring. So technically, the loss of aliveness causes the depression.
Here's the important point:
Your heart just wants to feel all your feelings. It's painful to not feel. So start letting in the feelings. And for more details, just go to this page on the causes of depression.

Gainesville Home Services
News flash! I used to paint houses for a living, and I just set up a website for my brother (and maybe me!) which is located at http://www.gainesville-handyman.com.
Now, lets see if it will show up on Google's search results!
Here's the link - Gainesville Painters And Handyman Service
Gainesville is really not such a bad town. It has many good points and a few not-so-good points. When I moved here in 1976 I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! I absolutely loved it!
Over the years, the complexion of this town has changed quite a bit. I actually moved away for ten years and just moved back last year. It was fun connecting with old friends and meeting new ones.
Plus, as a big Gator fan, it's a blast going to the home football games.
Since my brother and I have lived here for so many years, it was always kind of easy for us to get painting work. In fact, most all the work we've ever gotten was from referrals. And believe me, those are always the best kind of leads to get!
We never really tried to advertise our services much, so it was kind of a big deal to even put up a website. I did it mostly as an experiment to see what happened. Actually, I don't really do much painting work at all. Most of my time is spent working on the computer.
But when you're still the best painter in town, well... it's hard to hang up your paint brushes for good. I wouldn't mind getting out and doing some of the work myself. Call me crazy, but I actually kind of enjoy painting. Maybe because it's so familiar. Maybe because I need to get out and do some good old fashioned work every now and then. Maybe because I like how it feels when you paint a bedroom and it changes the energy so much. Whatever the reason, I still do paint on occasion.
Anyway, if you have a need for any painting work in Gainesville, Florida, then you should definitely click on the link above and check out our website and call us up.
